MARAWS
Simon Waldhör aka MARAws is a DJ, producer & promoter currently based in Vienna, who was socialized in between DIY- and popular culture. Growing up in the suburbs of Linz, they started experimenting with samples to create industrial sounds and noise-heavy drone music. Simultaneously they contributed to and worked on various local DIY-magazines and -events. After moving to Vienna, they co-founded the cassette label Jeopardize, which releases bedroom electronic music. Apart from that they are running the event series Augend&Addend together with Winona Hudec. A&A is an attempt to “undo the equation”, trying to have a low-threshold approach on contemporary club & electronic music tendencies. As a DJ MARAws navigates through grimy sound-textures and dismantled beats, trying to channel discontent and confusion.
