3XOJ

3xOJ is a Meknes-raised, Casablanca-based electronic music DJ and producer that can best be described as an all-round self-taught creative. His approach to music history and theory has brought him in contact with a wide range of styles and influences that he has learned to weave together with his love for contemporary club culture. Whoever listens closely to a track by 3xOJ can be sure to discover something new each time it is played.

ARTIST

KIMYAN LAW – “Coltan”

Having its roots in Drum & Bass, the music flies far beyond the confines of that often-formulaic genre, expanding sonic ranges and disrupting standard arrangements. Kimyan Law incorporates African instruments and influences into his set up, achieving a rare organic and human quality amongst the cold electronics. Glittering cascades of tuned percussion are expertly weaved into layers of state-of-the-art bass and the result is a stunning, future/primitive array of romantic and cinematic music that, with its sheer humanity, seduces everyone who experiences it.Having its roots in Drum & Bass, the music flies far beyond the confines of that often-formulaic genre, expanding sonic ranges and disrupting standard arrangements. BADER – “Clash”

Having a Libyan mother and a Syrian father, Bader spent his youth between Benghazi & Damascus. He grew up listening to Libyan Tagaza Majrouda rhythms and Syrian classical music. His brother DJ Khalil was one of the pioneers in the MENA region who fused his musical heritage with hip hop beats. When Bader moved to Belgium he studied photography and became a videographer and visual artist, working for numerous artists & brands. He started curating Yalla World wide events in Ghent; bringing the cream of the crop of the alternative MENA music scene to Belgium. At the same time Bader started dj’ing and producing music with Yalla Soundsystem together with his colleague Acid Ponch. His sound can be described as a symbiose between east and west: bass heavy patterns merge with his own musical heritage from the MENA region. One thing’s for sure: Bader kills dancefloors without any compromise. Yalla Soundsystem has a residency and hosts a monthly radio show on the Paris based channel Radio Flouka.
