RABIT
Rabit (Eric Burton) is a storyteller documenting the American South primarily through sound. After dozens of ‘white label’ releases, Rabit officially appeared with his debut album Communion in 2015, and a Björk ‘Vulnicura’ remix vinyl in 2016. Following up with a production credit on Bjork’s Grammy-nominated album Utopia, and two more solo album releases, he ventured into mixtape territory with the classic Houston themed release, Cry Alone Die Alone, followed by ten more mixtapes in the series. His latest album of original music, What Dreams May Come, is a collaborative multimedia record released on November 25, 2022, on his label Halcyon Veil. The project unfolded through a series of gallery exhibitions, performances, and album releases through 2022-23. New Rabit single, RED featuring Croww, was released globally on 28 February 2024 on Halcyon Veil.
LUηG live
LUηG wells up through pressure and heat. The voice and body are infused with ceremonies of light, smoke, and noise. Forever in the strata. Distorted fragments of past selves are recollected around simulated bonfires and shatter back into oblivion.
LUηG is based in Tokyo, Japan.
NUNGUJA
Besides playing the legendary PAN label nights at Berghain/Panorama Bar in Berlin, making her sound performance debuts at the Bourse de Commerce in Paris and Spazio Maiocchi in Milan, Nunguja has kicked off her recent Oroko radio show residency. Her unique perspective and experiences have deeply influenced her approach to sound, imbuing her work with a rich tapestry of cultural influences and a playful spirit. In her DJ sets, Nunguja skillfully weaves together a captivating fusion of musical genres. Her artistry knows no bounds as she seamlessly incorporates elements of experimental, electronic, jazz, and traditional African music. This eclectic blend not only showcases her versatility but also serves as a testament to her commitment to pushing the boundaries of sonic exploration. She bridges together worlds, creating a sonic landscape that transcends borders and invites listeners to embark on a journey of cultural discovery and musical wonder.
KEINPONNY live
Joanna Coleman alias KEINPONNY deals with error cultures, interference signals, random systems and sensory overload. Their artistic work revolves around the investigation of generative systems in their transdisciplinarity using soundscapes and rhythms of rave, trance and neo-gabber. The thematization of neoliberal commodification asks what is a ‘good’ signal and what is a ‘bad’ signal, what has value. The consciously initiated sensory overload/overstimulation also leads aspects of a burnout and ADHD generation ad absurdum: too much happens at the same time, multitasking to the point of overload, mental risk areas and ecstasy are closely related.
