TRAXMAN

Traxman, a key figure in the Chicago House scene, is known for his contributions to Ghetto House and Juke music, with notable tracks like “Get Down Lil Momma” and “Pacman Juke.” He co-founded the G.E.T.O. DJ’z collective in 1992 and gained wider recognition when Planet Mu released his debut album, *Da Mind of Traxman*, in 2012. 

Growing up on Chicago’s West Side, Traxman began DJing in the early ’80s and focused on the rhythm-centric side of house music. His first record, *Westside Boogie Traxs, Vol. 1*, was released in 1996 on Dance Mania. Throughout the 2000s, he produced influential tracks and mixtapes, contributing to the emergence of footwork as a genre.

Over the years, Traxman has released multiple albums and EPs, including *Tekvision* and its sequels, while collaborating with various artists and remixing tracks for non-footwork musicians. His work continues to shape the global footwork movement, with his third volume of *Da Mind of Traxman* released in February 7th 2025.

DJ Spinn is one of the most visible members of Chicago’s frenetic juke/footwork scene, with releases on Planet Mu and Hyperdub as well as a constant touring schedule. Along with fellow scene pioneers such as DJ Rashad and DJ Gantman, Spinn co-founded Teklife, a crew that expanded footwork’s range throughout the globe.

Sun People is an adventurous maverick in quick rhythms, playfully fearless in productions and selections while moulded by a core passion for the culture and the movements within. Simon Hafner’s two decade long stint in dance music has yielded a glorious treasure trail of club-minded innovation. Initially emerging as part of the Winterstrand trio (alongside his two brothers) in the late nineties, he then proceeded solo: first, as the dubwise broken beat leanings of Simon/off in the mid-2000s, and now Sun People. Having settled into his current alias for over a decade now, his output since its inception has been widely regarded for its inimitable takes on jungle and footwork, fascinatingly hybridised with a wide variety of styles like juke, techno, electro, minimal and dub. His deft beat programming, boundless energy and remarkable productive spontaneity has sparked a celebrated discography, with noted releases on dBridge’s Exit Records, Defrostatica, Rua Sound, Outlines sub-label Guides, an EP for Steffi’s & Virginia’s Candy Mountain imprint and much more.
