Hannah Todt
Hannah Todt is a multidisciplinary artist interested in the entanglements among performance, sound and sculpture.
In her performances, she explores the acoustic potential of objects and materials by reinterpreting them as musical instruments. Conversely, her sculptures reflect the aesthetic and physical quality of sound bodies. She draws inspiration from found materials, traditional notions of value, organology and contemporary insights from cultural anthropology and socio-economics. Her playful approach is based on a critical reflection on the attribution of value and artistic creation as a commodity; she gathers, fragments and reinterprets the narratives on which realities are built in order to question their validity and mutability. As an important part of her practice, Todt collaborates with artists’ collectives such as Conte Potuto and is associated with musical projects such as AUTOR, Franca Sol, and Gomme.
